Water Works for Weight Loss

Nothing quells the appetite like water, lots and lots of water. Start out with two quart bottles in the morning and carry one with you to work or wherever you go. If you like, divvy up the 64 ounces of water into eight (8-ounce) bottles or four pint (16-ounce) bottles to carry around with you all day. Freeze half of them the night before and they will last all day, even in a hot car. Keep some unfrozen so they will be ready to drink immediately.

Yes. You will have to make more frequent bathroom trips, but it is worth it. Drink your 64 ounces of water before dinner, if possible, so you’re not up half the night going to the bathroom.

Water not only fills you up and lessens your appetite, it prevents those “hungry horrors” we all encounter when our blood sugar drops and we reach for cookies, candy, ice cream, fries or other high-calorie treats. Water also flushes out the system, rids the body of bloat and toxins and rosies up the complexion. Now, start splashing.

Quit smoking by deep breathing

Posted on 02 February 2012 by admin

It is easy to quit smoking if you are serious about it. If you have tried to quit smoking but failed, you can take comfort in the fact that most smokers fail at least 3-4 times before they quit forever. Your past failures can be a learning experience for you and if you understand why you failed, you can surely quit smoking for once and for all in your next attempt.

Deep breathing is a technique that helps you have better self control. If you practice deep breathing, you can not only control your senses but you can also cope easily with symptoms that arise when you stop smoking. Inhale deeply and exhale slowly. Let your chin sink over your chest and rest calmly. This technique can be the most powerful one if you practice it properly. Do this three times in a row every time you want to smoke a cigarette.

Visualise that tension is leaving your body and you are free from the urge to smoke. Deep breathing will also help you deal with other stressful situations in life. If you do not see the expected results with deep breathing, try doing it more often. You can start by performing the deep breathing technique right in the morning. You can also use medications such as Champix, which can help in quitting. Champix works by reducing the amount of cravings you have for nicotine and also controls the withdrawal symptoms. Another smoking cessation drug, Zyban, is also helpful for smokers to stop smoking.
